Located at the entrance of the Forbidden City, Xidan Culture Plaza is a historical nexus connecting the inner and outer city,
as well as a key hub where commerce and culture have long intertwined to drive Beijing’s growth.
This project aims to inherit its historical value while creating a new sense of symbolism suited to the present era.
By translating culture, tradition, history, and memory into a contemporary design language,
we bring new narratives and vitality to the city.
Here, where “tradition” and “innovation” resonate with each other,
the “roots” and “spirit” of Chinese culture are preserved, continuously evolving with the times.
With “INNFINITY” (Infinity) as our design concept,
we explored the boundless potential of this site to create an engaging spatial experience.
The three symbolic VOID spaces transform with the seasons, time of day, and events,
stimulating visitors’ senses and imagination,
while serving as a place of discovery that connects people and the city, the past and the future.
