CHONGQING MIXC RENOVATION

Located within Chongqing MixC, this renovation project focuses on the department store area spanning from the basement level to the fourth floor.Since each floor remains connected to the operational shopping center during renovation, the design required careful planning to ensure a seamless transition between the old and new spaces without creating visual or experiential gaps.
The theme of the renovation is “the fusion of youthful sensibility and nature.” In the main atrium, the design takes inspiration from Chongqing’s city flower, the camellia, expressed through shimmering details reminiscent of sparkling drops of light. Each floor features its own design theme in harmony with its tenant mix, while the overall space aims to evoke a sense of calm flow—like a gentle breeze passing through the atrium—through the use of warm materials and soft, fluid lines.
The boundaries between tenant zones and public areas are intentionally varied in form and material according to each floor’s theme, allowing visitors to experience distinct atmospheres while maintaining a cohesive overall identity.
