TAIYUAN MIXC

Located beside the Central Cultural Island in Taiyuan’s Changfeng Cultural Business District, this large-scale commercial complex connects seamlessly with the surrounding cultural landmarks such as museums, theaters, and a science hall. Situated between the city’s historic district and a new development zone, the project was designed to express a sense of dignity and harmony befitting its location. The interior is organized into three main zones, each with its own character, yet unified through cultural and artistic elements that create a coherent spatial story.Natural light, shadow, and texture were carefully composed to bring depth and refinement to the space. Locally inspired materials such as earthen finishes and regional brick were reinterpreted through a modern lens, blending local identity with contemporary design.
